AFE is a diversified construction contractor. Its disciplines include earthmoving and haffirs, earth and stone dam construction, pile construction (bored, foundation, concrete, precast, rotary, and micro piling), water supply distribution networks, drainage systems, bridges and culverts, road construction and asphalt paving, electricity distribution networks, multi-storey concrete and steel buildings, and steel structures such as warehouses, canopies, and water tanks.

Where does AFE operate?

The company is headquartered in Khartoum North and works nationwide. Delivered projects span Khartoum State, Omdurman, Gadaref State, Kassala, Damazin in Blue Nile, Kutum in North Darfur, and the Suwakin–Toker road corridor in eastern Sudan.

Does AFE own its construction equipment?

Yes. The company owns a heavy fleet including CAT and Daewoo excavators, CAT 950 loaders, CAT 140H graders, a pile-drilling excavator, eight 16 m³ Mercedes tipper trucks, and a 60-ton low-bed trailer, alongside concrete mixers, shuttering, and compaction plant. Qualified vendors and subcontractors supplement the fleet for specialized tasks.

What is AFE's health, safety, and environment (HSE) policy?

AFE conducts its business to protect the health, safety, and work environment of employees, contractors, visitors, and the surrounding community, while preventing pollution from its activities. The standing goals are zero injuries and incidents, zero environmental situations demanding special precautions, and minimized sick leave. Risk assessments run regularly across all work areas, HSE programs are audited on a regular basis, and goals and results are published annually. The policy applies to every member of the company.

Who leads Almaroom for Engineering?

The company is led by Chairman Eng. Ibrahim Elyamani, a civil engineer, and General Manager Eng. Khalid Elmanufi, who holds an MBA alongside degrees in civil engineering and computer science and brings over 15 years of design, construction, and project-management experience in Sudan and Canada. Below them sit a dedicated project manager, three site managers, and site engineers — all degreed civil engineers.

Can AFE provide financial and bank references?

Yes. AFE holds a stable financial position with access to a line of credit of more than $1M USD and banks with Khartoum Bank, French Bank, Faisal Islamic Bank, Omdurman National Bank, and Nile Bank. The company also insures its assets and its projects.

What water infrastructure does AFE build?

Water works are one of AFE's core disciplines: water supply distribution networks (including the $1.2M Thawra network), a $1,345,126 water treatment station at Huwata in Gadaref State, water yards and haffirs delivered for Goal Ireland in Kassala and North Darfur, borehole construction, and water drains and drainage systems for the Housing Fund and the Ministry of Planning.

Does AFE supply goods as well as construction works?

Yes. Alongside its contracting disciplines, AFE supplies non-food items (NFI) for organizations — a service line used by agencies and NGOs operating in Sudan.
